Structural Changes in the Language Network During Learning Process
Stella Maris Sánchez
Max Planck Institute for Human and Brain Sciences
Diffusion Magnetic Resonance Imaging (dMRI) is a noninvasive in vivo method that allows to study white matter microstructure and to reconstruct fiber trajectories in the brain. This method is often used to identify structural brain changes in subjects of a population of interest. In the present project we propose to study language network changes in young adults who were involved in a learning experiment. We will apply dMRI techniques to quantify structural changes, assess their connection to the myelination mechanism, and study the relationship between the structural changes and alterations reported by other types of measurements (cognitive and functional).
