The wildland-urban interface (WUI) is expanding rapidly in fire prone areas of central Argentina. Despite the high risk to human lives and structures, neither the extent of the WUI nor the number of housing units at risk has been studied until now. So, the major goal of this project is to determine the boundaries of the WUI and the number of houses at risk in the mountains of central Argentina, using a novel technique.
