The session was held for the six schools taking part in the Alfredo Hirsch Project for Agriculture and Animal Husbandry education, financed by Claudia Caraballo de Quentin and Octavio Caraballo, which aims to achieve the ISO 9001:2008 certification of quality for the institutions involved in the project.
On February 18 and 19, the first training session on Quality Educational Management was held for a group of 24 teachers and heads from the six schools which qualified to take part in the second round of the Alfredo Hirsch Project for Agriculture and Animal Husbandry education.
Two leading figures from the sector, Professor Alfredo van Gelderen and Dr. Mariano Narodowski gave talks on “Ethics and the vocation for teaching” and “Different aspects of educational quality”, respectively.
The heads and teachers from the six schools that were certified last year and are now part of the Alfredo Hirsch Schools Network contributed their experiences and learnings to support the schools currently undergoing the process.
This year, the training sessions will take place during two intensive training days held every month throughout the year, coordinated, as before, by Patricio Ferrario. He will be guiding the heads of each school through the procedures required to draw up their process manual which will then be audited by the certifying entity Det Norske Veritas.
The schools taking part are:
- Escuela Agrotécnica “Los Sarmiento”, Los Sarmiento, Tucumán.
- Escuela Agropecuaria N° 1 “Manuel Belgrano”, 30 de Agosto, Buenos Aires.
- IPEM 293 “Agr. Orestes Chiesa Molinari”, Bell Ville, Córdoba.
- Escuela de Agricultura y Ganadería “Adolfo J. Zabala”, Universidad Nacional del Sur, Bahía Blanca, Buenos Aires.
- Instituto Técnico Agrario Industrial, Monte Buey, Córdoba.
- Centro Agrotécnico Regional, Venado Tuerto, Santa Fe.
As in previous rounds of the project, once a school has been certified a further three-year period is involved in which it will receive support for observing and maintaining the standards. |
