The second meeting organized under the auspices of the Alfredo Hirsch Project to certify the quality of education was held

The second Training Day for heads and other teachers from the twelve schools taking part in the Alfredo Hirsch Project for Education in Farming and Animal Husbandry was held on March 14. Mrs Claudia Caraballo de Quentin, Don Alfredo Hirsch’s grand-daughter and sponsor of the project, attended the meeting on this occasion.

The experts giving the talks were Paula Scaliter, the Coordinator of Special Programs from the IIPE-UNESCO Training Unit, who spoke on the topic of “Schools: their past, present and future”, and Ernesto Gore, the Academic Director of the University of St Andrew, who presented “The School as an organization”. The Project Coordinator, Patricio Ferrario explained the IOS 9001 standard and its application in schools.

The project, highly innovative in its aims and content, provides the transfer of know-how through a series of training days. Its purpose is to help agricultural and animal husbandry schools from both the private and public sector to develop an Educational Quality Management System (SGCE in Spanish) which will secure certification according to international standards of quality

This year’s calendar includes a program of monthly meetings to share advice and exchange with experts. There will also be three meetings with the Project Coordinator at each school over the year to ensure the appropriate follow-up and audit of the work carried out.

The project is being financed by Claudia Caraballo de Quentin and Octavio Caraballo, Don Alfredo Hirsch’s grandchildren.
