The Rotary Club of Buenos Aires has chosen the Bunge y Born Foundation to be the recipient of its “Rotary Wheel” award in recognition of the important work it carries out in the community.
On June 25, the Rotary Club of Buenos Aires held its annual awards ceremony “Fiesta de los Lauros” where it presented its awards for the year 2008.
The Bunge y Born Foundation received the highest distinction awarded at the ceremony, the “Rotary Wheel”, in acknowledgment of the work it has carried out to support research, education and humanitarian causes since its creation in 1963.
The award was received by the Foundation’s president, Jorge Born (jr).
The Buenos Aires Rotary Club’s awards have been presented every year since 1966.
Among the winners of previous awards are distinguished institutions such as the Hospital Garrahan, Cáritas Buenos Aires, La Fundación Oftalmológica ‘Jose Malbran’; La Cooperadora de Acción Social (COAS), La Asociación para la Lucha contra la Parálisis Infantil (ALPI), and the newspapers “La Prensa” and “La Nacion”. |
