The Fulbright-Bunge y Born Foundation Doctorate Scholarships are intended for young researchers so that they may complete the research for their doctorates at universities and research centers in the United States. They must return to Argentina within the period of 6 months to 1 year, to finish and present their theses at the relevant local institution. Likewise, on his/her return, the beneficiary of the scholarship must commit to applying and transferring the knowledge acquired abroad in order to enhance the development of sciences in Argentina.
 
The competition is open to all scientific fields and preference will be given to basic and experimental sciences.
 
Each scholarship lasts a maximum of up to six months, may only be granted once, and covers the cost of a return flight (coach class), a maintenance allowance and a healthcare plan.
 
The deadline for entering the 3rd competition for the Fulbright-Bunge y Born Foundation Doctorate Scholarships is October 15, 2008.
